The Diabetes Super Mum

This is a tribute to all mum's out there who have children with Type 1 Diabetes.

If we were Prime Minister and MP's our country would be in A1 condition: fair, organised, understanding, logical, transparent to be honest just perfect.

It's that time of year again! Big deep breath, here we go!!!!

It's sport's day, school trip, school play, dance show time, birthday parties, moving up to High School or just in to the next class. Due to the warmer weather and light nights there is lots more playing. To top it all with are having lot's of sunshine. Which is good, but it tends to tip the balance with diabetes.

We have our other children, who have needs and want the same attention as their siblings.
Our beloved husbands. We are mothers, wives, taxi service, costume makers, medicine coordinator's, teachers(educating people about diabetes), councillors, mediators to name a few of our day to day tasks. Some of us work and some are studying. Sometimes I wonder:How on earth do we manage?

Then we have Mr Diabetes hmmn unpredictable, badly behaved, unreasonable,
un-compassionate, inconsiderate and to be perfectly honest a right pain in the bottom on many occasions!

This is why: July, is fondly known in our family as Demon Diabetes Month!

As all the above takes double the thought as normal due to it being so manic, the only months to top July are September & December!!

When we reach the 22nd of July 2010 you will hear a massive sigh of relief across the UK as school closes and the madness ends. Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

He He, just got to outwit Mr Diabetes through the summer holidays, only bonus,we don't have any time restrictions, so I have more time to plan my battle against Mr D.

This is a message to MR Diabetes, you may outwit me on occasions, you may get me frustrated and angry, but you will never stop me laughing or enjoying life.
The day they find a cure, I will be hosting the biggest party ever.
