Diabetes Power Meets Diabetes UK

Let's work together

If you are a parent of a child with Type 1 or an adult with Type 1.
I need your support !
This is your chance to have your say. Whether it is positive, negative or fairly neutral.
If you are newly diagnosed or have been diagnosed Type 1 for over 40 years, your thoughts are valuable.

BarbaraYoung the Chief Executive & Louise Ansari the Interim Director of Communications.
Of Diabetes UK has agreed to meet with Diabetes Power.

The meeting will take place on Friday 16th December 2011 between 10.30am & 12.30pm.

The meeting will take place at my house, which is located just outside Preston, Lancashire.
Currently I have 6 parents attending the meeting.

This is our opportunity to have a meeting with Barbara Young and raise our concerns with Diabetes UK.

Remember Diabetes Uk are not responsible for our Health Care System, however they have the ability to help in other areas and get our voices heard.

If you would like to attend the meeting, please email: angela@diabetespower.org.uk or tel:07717511007

Diabetes Power is able to fund reasonable travel expenses & collect from the local train station.

If you would like a question to be asked on your behalf, please email: angela@diabetespower.org.uk or mailto:tracy.ryman@hotmail.comcom

Remember you can highlight positive experience as well as issues you feel should be improved or changed.

Diabetes Power  Parents Network Meeting!

Saturday 17th March 2012.
Location Birmingham. (Venue to be confirmed).

Currently there is a National  Diabetes Paediatric Consultants Network, which I currently attend. This Network is made up of representation from the "Local Paediatric Diabetes Networks"
I am  setting up a Parents/Adults Network which, hopefully will feed into this group and other revelant groups/charities/organisations. More importantly I feel that if we "Unite Country Wide" as parents and adults, we will have a much stronger voice.

Over the next 12-18 months services will be changing. This is our opportunity to help shape the future services and ensure that services are delivered in all areas of the country.

Although Wales & Scotland have different Health Systems, I feel it would be beneficial to have representation from these areas on our Network.

If you are a parent of a child with Type 1 or an adult with Type 1, please join us. I am looking for a minimum of 2 people to represent each area of the UK.

If you would like to attend this meeting please email: angela@diabetespower.org.uk or  tracy.ryman@hotmail.com
