Diabetes Power Update & Cellnovo & Sir Steve Redgrave

Te He !!!
Diabetes Power Update.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the many friends that have supported me over the last couple of months.

The next issue of The Diabetes Power Online Magazine is due out early September 2011. If you would like to submit an article or relevant advert. Please email : angela@diabetespower.org.uk This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Many thanks to Helen Kerins, Aimee & family, they have kindly sponsored local youth football team shirts, which will have Diabetes Power printed on the backs.

A huge breakthrough! I have been contacted my Neil Martinson from Diabetes Uk & Sarah Johnson from Jdrf. They are head of communication and are due to meet with me in September 2011 to discuss working together and raising the profile of Type 1 Diabetes. I will post full details of the meeting after the 20th September 2011.

Diabetes Power will be launching a member of The "Dee Family" in the next 2 months. Watch for further details as I am sure the children & young people will love them.

Over the next 3 months I will be setting up a parents network covering the whole of the UK. I already have parents who have agreed to join. The aim of the Network is to feed information and ideas into The Paediatric Diabetes Network & NHS Diabetes. If you would like to be part of the Network. Please email: angela@diabetespower.org.uk This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it The first meeting will take place early October 2011 hopefully.

The Type 1 Awareness Campaign will be going ahead. Hopefully this will have the support from Diabetes Uk & Jdrf. The Campaign may change in format but the aim will still be to highlight the symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes to GP's & the public.

I am in the process of putting an online reference manual. This will include information regarding sick day rules & hypo treatments. I have taken the information from one of the leading Diabetes Care Hospitals. However my advice would always be contact your Diabetes Specialist Team for advice.

Once again I will be organising the release of Blue Chinese Lanterns on World Diabetes Day November 14th. They are completely biodegradable. Ideas for location and support for this event would be very welcome. email: angela@diabetespower.org.uk This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
